What is a Jamdar Band page?
A band page is a public profile for your group. It's the thing you link people to - from the Jam Feed, from your socials, from a poster. On it you can show:
- The basics: Your name, a short bio, and the year you formed
- A look: A band photo and a banner (pick one of our gradient presets)
- Your sound: The genres you play, plus the artists and bands that influence you
- Where you are: Your city, and approximate rehearsal location
- Your line-up: You bandmates and the instruments each of them plays
- Links and media: Your socials and a few tracks or videos
Creating your band
You can start a band from two places:
- On your dashboard, under Next steps → Create a band
- On your Bands page → + New band
Creating a band is free. The one thing you'll need first is a completed profile - a band page links back to yours, so it's worth having it filled in before you invite anyone. If your profile isn't finished yet, we'll point you there first.
Once it's created, you'll land straight on your band's edit page, ready to fill in.
Setting it up
Take a couple of minutes to make the page yours:
- Photo and banner - upload a band photo, then pick a banner.
- Bio - a line or two on who you are and what you're about.
- Genres and influences - tag the genres you play and the artists that shape your sound. These help the right people find you.
- Location - set your city so you show up for musicians and fans nearby.
- Links and media - add your socials and drop in a track or video.
You don't have to do it all at once, you can come back and edit any of it whenever you like.
Invite your band mates to join the page
- Open your band and grab the invite link.
- Share it with your members however you like: Message, group chat, email.
- When they open it, they join the band and choose the instruments they play, which then show on the page next to their name.
Everyone has a role — owner, admin, or member. As the owner you can promote members to admin, hand ownership over to someone else, or remove a member if the line-up changes. Members can leave on their own too.
When you send an invite, it shows up on that person's dashboard under What's new, so it's easy for them to accept, or decline if it wasn't meant for them.
Finding members and advertising gigs
Your band page works with the Jam Feed. Two ways to put it to work:
- Looking for someone? Flag your band as looking for members, and post a Seeking Musician ad on the Jam Feed as your band — "Function band needs a keys player for weekend gigs," that kind of thing.
- Got a show coming up? Post a Gig to promote it to musicians and fans in your area.
Every band gets a free Jam Feed post to get started, so there's no reason not to.
Managing your band
Everything's editable after the fact. From your band's edit page you can update the details, swap the photo or banner, change who plays what, adjust roles, transfer ownership, or remove a member. If a band winds down, the owner can take it down entirely.
Tips for a band page that lands
- Fill it in properly. A photo, a bio, and your genres make the difference between a page people trust and one they scroll past.
- Invite everyone. The page is at its best when every member is on it — that's what links it back to real profiles.
- Keep it current. Line-up changed? Update it. An out-of-date page is worse than none.
- Point people to it. Put the link in your Jam Feed posts and your socials — it's your band's home base.
Ready? Set up your band page and get your group on the map. 🎸
